SSOFHDEV on its 20th Year… Moving on… Sailing on…

SSOFHDEV on its 20th year of engaging in development initiatives has proven its worth of being an effective partner for community development.

S - since its establishment, it has already forged successful partnership with international, national and local partner agencies and institutions.  There were already several accomplishments and transformative innovations created by the organization in the hope of transforming all the assisted communities into a truly human and progressive communities.  Through the years, the organization has been able to operationalize its goal of “HELPING OTHERS HELP THEMSELVES.”

S - serving the less fortunate brothers and sisters in the most remote and deprived communities has been its dream since the institutionalization of the organization.  This has came true after the organization existed for eighteen years serving in particular the Surigaonons or the Province of Surigao del Sur.

O - objectively, its interventions to the communities is still considered as insufficient owing the fact that until this time the organization is still very much dependent with the funds of the partner funding agencies.  It is now the challenge for the organization to sustain its initiatives without having been dependent with its partner institutions.

F - for our mission of helping depressed sectors on principles of helping others help themselves is the genuine desire of the organization.  We can only make people and communities became independent if they are committed to help themselves.

H - having able to strengthened our partnership with significant local agencies and institutions like: PhilDHRRA, MINCODE, DAR, DA, DTI, PLGU & MLGU, DILG, DSWD, DOH, OPAG, & Others. The organization able to sustain its development initiatives and sufficiently address poverty especially at the countryside through partnership engagements with the aforementioned offices.

D - development efforts and desire of the organization is the burning fire that heightened its workers advocacy to continue serving the people.  Through the continued support of the personnel and staff of the organization, the existence of the organization embarks a very fruitful effort.

E - empowering the communities and the personnel and staff of the organization is the only  way to ensure that holistic and sustainable development will really be achieved.

V - various initiatives has been done considering the fact that although there were already several development efforts initiated by many development advocates, yet, the need to strengthened these efforts shall be done looking into consideration the issues and concerns currently experienced by the assisted communities.
